Grant Divall RVN, Human Resources Administrator
"I started working for Pet Doctors in 2003 when I was employed as a 2nd year trainee Veterinary Nurse at Seaford clinic, East Sussex. I successfully completed my training in 2004 after a lot of support and encouragement from the clinic team and my Area Manager, despite failing my first year exam twice with a previous company.
In 2006 I moved to Lewes clinic in East Sussex and spent over a year at the practice but felt in need of a new challenge from veterinary nursing and Pet Doctors helped me further my career by offering me a role as Human Resources Administrator, which I started in August 2007.
I really enjoy this new role and the challenges it offers. I supply locum cover for all vets absent due to holiday, sickness or training as well as arranging their accommodation, VDS cover and managing all the vets and nurses’ rotas.
I enjoy getting involved in promoting Pet Doctors and have helped manage a stand at BVNA congress for the past 2 years - for which I am available to talk about the many benefits of working for the Company - and I will also be taking part on the BSAVA congress stand in 2009 and other events such as Surrey Skills Day.
I continue to do occasional nursing work by filling in for nurses that are away in East Sussex and continue to have a good relationship with them all by attending various social events that are held locally throughout the year.
So far I have recommended 4 Veterinary Nurses that I know, to come and work for Pet Doctors, who continue to be employed by the Company. This has not only benefited them but also myself as I was generously rewarded for doing this, under the Company’s Refer a Friend Scheme."
