Vets Judge Marigold Gloves!
Jul 4, 2008Some very decorative marigold gloves were on parade at Pet Doctors Veterinary Clinics, Chandlers Ford recently.
During October, Pet Doctors supported the Big Wiggly campaign. The purpose of this campaign was to educate pet owners on the importance of regular worming and flea treatment for their pets and on the dangers of Toxocara which can be passed from pets to children. The campaign was fronted, and supported by, Kim & Aggi from "How Clean is your House". To tie in with the campaign, veterinary nurse Emily Stokes came up with the idea of a competition, for their clients' children to decorate a marigold glove.
On Friday, Michelle Bright, veterinary nurse, and Kam Prevett, Veterinary Surgeon at Pet Doctors, Chandlers Ford, invited the winners of the competition along to the clinic to be presented with their prizes.
"There were some great designs which I am sure Kim and Aggi would have liked," said Kam. "It was very hard to pick a first and second prize winner!"
The First Prize winner was Mason O'Connor aged 5 and second prize was awarded to India Gigg aged 7. Both prize winners were presented with a goodie bag containing a cuddly toy and bathtime toiletries.
As a consolation prize, all the children, who entered, received some wiggly worm sweets and some Smarties!
