Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions

The veterinary surgeon may only prescribe Prescription Only Medicines (Category POM-V) for animals under their care.

In the case of flea or worming treatment, the animal must have been seen in the previous 12 months.

In the case of repeat prescriptions of medication for a stabilised case, the veterinary surgeon will need to check the animal every three to six months, but this may vary on individual circumstances. The vet needs to have seen your pet recently enough to be confident of their state of health before prescribing. The standard charge for a re-examination is displayed in reception.

You may ask for a written prescription to obtain medicines from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy, there will be a charge for this. For any repeat or written prescriptions, please give us 48-hours notice. These guidelines have been created in the best interest of the treatment of your pet and to safeguard their health.
